About Jim Landers
Jim Landers is a native of San Antonio.
(Paternal Grandparents moved here in the
early 40’s) He grew up in the Northside school district and was
in the first graduating class at Taft High School in 1987.
Jim has been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church
for over 25 years.
Jim went to college at UTSA his
freshman year and then transferred to Sam Houston State University
in Huntsville, Texas to study photography. (Note: Jim is one of very
few photographers in San Antonio that actually has a four-year degree
in photography) Within a month of graduating, in May of 1991, Jim was
working as the photography manager at Sea World of Texas.
During the school year, when Sea World was
closed, he was a substitute teacher in the Northside
Independent School District.
Jim left Sea World after just two seasons to become
a school photographer. In the mid-nineties, he photographed students at more than half of
all the schools in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
Jim is a professional photographer who has been
published in many magazines, in locations as far away as Australia. Even
Kodak has specifically requested his work for their
advertising. Affordable Wedding Photography uses Jim as the person who does
all of the training of the photographers.
He loves
teaching one-on-one
photography classes. Jim also mentors
high school students and others who are considering a career in the
field. Since 1995, he has volunteered at the
NISD Gifted and Talented program for sixth graders called
Nature Venture. Jim is a charter member of the
Dominion Rotary Club.
Jim enjoys
photographing people
from business and social events to individual and family portraits, and
Weddings!

We abide by The Four-Way Test |
From the earliest days of the
organization, Rotarians were concerned with promoting high
ethical standards in their professional lives. One of the
world's most widely printed and quoted statements of business
ethics is The Four-Way Test, which was created in 1932 by
Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor (who later served as RI president)
when he was asked to take charge of a company that was facing
bankruptcy.
This 24-word test for
employees to follow in their business and professional lives
became the guide for sales, production, advertising, and all
relations with dealers and customers, and the survival of the
company is credited to this simple philosophy. Adopted by Rotary
in 1943, The Four-Way Test has been translated into more than a
hundred languages and published in thousands of ways. It asks
the following four questions:
"Of the things we think, say or do:
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"
